“The ocean is imbued with mystery. Underwater and devoid of white walls the viewer is unrestrained in their interaction with the work. Buoyancy and weightlessness enable a detached and physical experience encouraging encounters that are perceptual and personal. As time passes and the works change, they reshape and redefine the underwater landscape in unpredictable ways.” (Jason deCaires Taylor)
We’ve recently connected with the good people at Coastal Care who do fantastic environmental work and provide comprehensive and quality information on their website! So glad to have found them! Please check them out!http://coastalcare.org/
And check out their film trailer for an important film called Sand Wars! It explores the consequences of illegally dredged sand. Very fascinating!
An inspiring day with Peter Coyote who provided beautiful narration in short order. Such a fun day. Thank you Peter for sharing.
This beautiful beach, just steps from Paul Sanchez-Navarro’s office at the Ecological Center in Akumal, is where the turtles come to lay their eggs which hatch baby turtles that return to the ocean. So much beauty, so much to protect.
